The rewind mechanism for the film is not working. Does anyone know how to fix this

What is happening? Rewind knob doesn't turn, button on bottom doesn't release sprocket? What?

Broken rewind crank? The X-700 uses a plastic folding lever for operation that can break with a lot of use.
