I have acquired an old TL Electro. The bottom LED of the light meter does not come on. Please could anyone tell me how to remove the top cover and to repair the LED. I have managed to remove the film advance and rewind levers but I have problems with the ASA dial.

Thank you.

the shutter speed plate is sticked by glue and you need to detouch with some solvent (very very few, or you'll damage it).
After that, you just have to unscrew the ASA dial. Should be simple...
What's the problem?

Thank you very much. That's useful information. I suppose the ASA dial will come off in one unit as I am worried I might disturb the settings. Any clues on repairing the LED ?

It's not an led, its a tiny light bulb. However, it can be replaced with an led. Try getting one from a junker polaroid, or just get a package of them from radio shack and pick out the right size one from the bunch. Remember they only light up in one direction. When you find one that works, simply solder it to the correct wires and stick it in place.
