Hi all,
I picked up a nice Canon IIF with 50mm F1.8 lens. Odd thing about it is the focus mark on the lens barrel ends up being at the 1 O'Clock position (when looking at front of camera). This is a just a minor irritation to me, however I am curious if there is a fix? If I place a piece if typing/copy paper between the lens and camera body, the mark ends up just about perfect. Thanks,

Will,
There is nothing wrong with your Canon, or the lens. Most of Leica screw mount lenses (and their Canon counterparts) are oriented that way. It was done so that when accessory finders were mounted in the shoe, you could still see the focus mark.
Under no circumstances place anything between the lens and the body - your focus will be off.

Hi Jan,
Thanks - I didn't know that! I have a Leica IIIa that doesn't do that. However, I only have the Russian lenses to mount on it. (Zeiss glass is currently beyond my budget :-)) The Russian lenses end up a bit all over the place - depending on the lens. But the Jupiter 8's mark is straight up. That is what I was basing my experience on. Thanks again.
