I don't know if this is new or not, but I hadn't seen it. If you've ever worked much on Nikon EMs you know that its worst Achilles' Heel is the plastic support bushing around the rewind shaft... it breaks off under a mild top impact, is hard to repair with adhesives, the part has been unavailable from Nikon for decades and the cost of machining a replacement is well beyond the value of an EM. Looking (unsuccessfully) for something else, I noticed that www.camerashop.in has this replacement part, for about 3 dollars. The Nikon EM isn't the greatest camera Nikon ever made, but it's nice to know that it is now possible to make this repair. rick : ) = |
