I don't know how it happened, it was fine a few hours ago. I was
fustrated today because my flash didn't fire (worked sometimes, and
sometimes it doesn't) so when I got home I hooked up the flash, and
fired the shutter about 2 dozen times. When I looked through the view
finder something wasn't right.

Whenever I wind the film into position, the mirror goes up with it!
When the frame is fully "cocked" in, all I see through the viewfinder
is black (mirror is locked in the up position, shutter is still shut).
When I fire the shutter, the mirror goes right back down.

The metal piece that goes up when metering is turned on also appears to go up when the lever is winded.

No film loaded.

Please tell me I can fix this on my own...

Sounds like you have a problem with the levers on the side of the mirror box that latch the mirror down, or a broken spring. Either would require removal of the front plate and probably the top cover.
