I want to clean the eyepiece of my Minolta XD-s by myself so I try removing the top cover of the camera. I have searched the step to do this. However, I still cannot remove the top cover even I have removed (1)the logo plate, (2)the whole ASA/ exposure compensation dial, (3)the wind lever, (4)the shutter speed ring, and (5)the screw of the diopter dial. I think the problem may due to the big brass ring just under the shutter speed ring (with a tiny bearing on it) or the hot shoe. Should I remove the brass ring and how to lift it up? What will happen if I remove the four screws of the hot shoe and is it necessary? Thank you for your kindly help. Dennis |
