On the Minolta 7000 there is a lithium battery that saves stored info during regular battery change or failure. It is located under a metal plate to be seen after removing the regular battery pack. Which side goes up,positive or negative or does it matter? |

Found this on the Minolta 7000 forum..... "Well ...as I was typing about the problems I was having with my Minolta 7000 AFTER installing NEW BATTERIES ...I failed MAGNIFICENTLY! to notice the very obvious! Camera working fine before installing new batteries all round - Camera dead as a Dodo immediately after. My mistake that caused me all of my angst? Lithium battery CR2016 replaced ...UPSIDE DOWN!!! Everything back to normal now ...apart from my brain!!! " |

Positive faces down. And the three shorter screws for the plate go on the forward edge. |

Good point about the screws. I was going to mention that, so thanks for the info on both items. |
