What can I use to get the 'grunge' off a camera? It is stuck in the cracks, around the dials and in the surface of the leatherette. Thanks

Larry

Larry, the first thing that I would do is to use a small paint brush, ~1", and remove any loose material. Next I would wipe the entire surface with alcohol from the drug store using cotton swabs and for tight places Q tips. If the camera is plastic, test the surface to make sure that the alcohol does not attack it. I always clean any used camera with an alcohol wipe as soon as I get it. If the alcohol does not do the job then some lighter fluid using the cotton swabs and Q tips woud be next.Again check the plastic and be sure not to get the solvents on the lens. This should get you started and hopefully will do the job. I'm sure others will have some comments to add to what I have suggested.

I use Windex and a toothbrush.

I use isopropyl alcohol and a soft toothbrush or Q-tip. On grungy leatherette and cases I use Cinch and a medium toothbrush to loosen stuff, followed by a clean terry cloth to remove it.
