Help! I just bought a Wide Angle (35mm Super-Lentar) lens. I thought it was a Pentax Screw Mount to fit my Pentax Spotmatic. No such luck.
The threaded section measures approx. .002" greater in diameter and a finer thread than my Spotmatic lenses.
Any help is appreciated in identifying what mount this is and is Super-Lentar a decent quality lens?
Thanks. Dick.

It sounds like a T mount lens...

Yep. You can buy a T mount to fit it to your M42 (or pretty much any other mount you like) for $10-15. Lentar made (marketed? whatever) lenses in T mount; I don't recall if I've seen them in dedicated mounts or with auto diaphragms. They're pretty basic stuff but the ones I've had have seemed pretty decent in quality.

Thanks Jon & Rick. You're a Good man, Jon. As good as your interslice light seals which I use regularly.

Rick; I have learned much from your contributions over the years. I'm indebted to both of you for your answers. I just now discovered your excellent rickoleson.tripod site on lens mount identification and have bookmarked it for future reference. Dick.

while you're there, take a look at the "tech notes" pages... you might find something useful
