Hi,

Please pardon if the Ricoh XR-2000 camera is beyond the scope of this forum ( camera is not classic enough and this question is not about maintenance or repair).

I was looking for an economical Pentax-K body like the Ricoh XR-7, and the Ricoh XR-2000 seems very similar to that one.

Can anyone provide any information on the XR-2000 ? Google doesn't help, and www.butkus.org doesn't have it.

Thanks,
Anirban

Don't know that particular model. Ricoh used to make some good quality manual focus SLRs back in the day. Not the equal of say a Nikon FE-2, but then, not bad, either. At one time their SLR cameras had a reputation for needing fewer repairs than similar bodies from Canon, Minolta, Contax or Pentax. They are a popular choice for K-mount lenses. Some folks claim that Ricoh's earlier (1978-87) SLRs were better built than what came later.
