and now it seems the glue has ceased to hold the focus ring in one place. i can move it past the furthest focal points in either direction; it will just keep spinning if you continue to move it. does anyone know how i can lock this down for good? looking for a fairly non-invasive remedy. thanks
Are you referring the rubber (vinyl) collar around the focusing ring--if so, glue it back in place with Pliobond. If you are referring to the metal focusing ring, I've not known them to be glued in place.
I had the same problem and used a simple solution of putting a wide rubber ban on the lens barrel and then putting the rubber focus ring back on. Have had no slippage as yet.
