A fried give me a Pentax MX camera with the cover of advance lever hardly brassed (see attached picture)
What can I do?
Have I to substitute it?
May I "paint" it?

You could do any of the things you mention if the brassing really bothers you that much. Or, maybe, glue a leather patch over it. But why bother, the camera looks like it might be in "well-used" condition so if it operates okay, just keep using it!
