I have an old Sunset branded Japanese flashgun, which takes flashbulbs. I'm trying to find a battery for it, but without success. The battery compartment is marked "15V battery", and the cavity is 35mm by 18mm by 18mm, or approx. 1 3/8" by 5/8" by 5/8". Any suggestions as to what battery it takes, or more importantly where I could get one from, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Mike.

I expect it's the first of Ben's 2 links. They had them in at least some Radio Shack stores last time I checked.

There is also a slightly smaller alkaline cell with about 12 volts - can't recall what it's made for, maybe shock collars for dogs? Anyway, I once made a little brass adapter to make this fit into the holder for the 15 volt battery and it worked very well. The little flash units are very forgiving about voltage (at least on the low side -- if it has a capacitor in it you don't want to exceed the rated voltage)

Wow, that was quick! It was, indeed, the first of the links. Thanks Ben, thanks Rick (again!).

Best Regards,

Mike.
