Where do I find leatherette that is an exactly like what came on my camera when it was new. I don't need to replace all the leatherette just that on the wind side.
Thanks, Phil.

Phil,

I think that to find an exact replacement will be quite difficult, if not impossible.

Try these two sites:

http://www.aki-asahi.com/store/
http://www.cameraleather.com/

Good luck,

jan

Try www.cameraleather.com. They sell precut covers and will also do the job.

I have replaced some, but not all, of the leatherette panels on my Nikon F with morocco grain pigskin from Tandy Leather. The grain is a good match for Zeiss Ikon and early Nikon cameras... not indistinguishable, but close enough to get away with a partial replacement. Also, leather is easier to work with than vinyl if you have to cut your own pieces.

I've used pre-cut kits from Aki Asahi to re-cover several of my old Yashicas, and they've worked well and been easy to fit. I didn't bother trying to match the old covers, but used the occasion to fit some of the more exotic styles and colours, like violet snakeskin. Surprisingly effective and attractive.
