hello, ive just bought a yashica mg1, the electrics dont work which i knew when i bought it. it didnt cost much to buy which is why i bought it. my question is, is it worth getting fixed? or did i just waste my money? the body is in excellent condition as is the lense.

Find the "Yashica Guy" website. He has several references to Yashica rpairs. Electrical repairs may be a do it yourself proposition. I bought a non working GSN that only needed one wire replaced.

Normally the wire leading out of the battery holder (at the top) is the problem here. Do you have a working battery? This is a good camera...the lens is slower than the Electro 35 series, but still sharp.

hi, no i dont have a battery, but i shall have a look at the wire, and try to fix it, if not ill take it to the repairers.

just an update, put a battery in out of my canon af with a bit of copper wire as the battery wasnt the right size, and...the electrics work!!
what a bargain!
