Hi Rick, thanks for answering. Even after winding to frame 1 or beyond, the needle or LED still don't kick in. I know the AE is working because it will beep or not beep depending on the brightness of the scene at which I'm pointing while the shutter button is half-depressed. Sometimes the LED will light and needle will move, but most of the time they don't do anything. I guess I can check inside for loose wires, or is this indicative of some cpu problem? Thanks!

since the AE is working it sounds more like a wire off at the meter movement. i have sketches for getting the top off, even the mirror box if you need it...
