Hi
Does any one know how to open, or have a scan of the repair manual for the AE finder for the F1?

Dropped my finder the other day, and it has dented the top, and now the needle sticks.

Have removed 8 screws from the finder, but it still does not want to come apart.

Anyone have any ideas.

Thanks

Neil

OK, well I found the answer from local camera repair shop.
So if anyone else gets the same problem and does a search for this problem, here is the answer.

The viewfinder has a screw each side at the front, and two at the back near the eye piece. These are the obvious ones.
The the collars around the two quick release buttons that are used to remove the viewfinder need to be unscrewed.
Next inside the chrome eyepiece, you need to prise out a thin alloy mask that is held down with adhesive. Underneath this is 4 more screws.
Finally prise out the little plastic plug in the centre of the eyepiece shutter lever, and here you will find the final screw. Once this is out remove the lever, and then the cover will come off.

Hope this helps someone.

Neil
