this beauty of a camera has one flaw the rangefinder is off on the horizontal can some one help me acess the top cover to get to the adjustment

You can do the rangefinder horizontal alignment without removing the whole top cover of the Lordomat. Just take off the small chrome cover, with the Leidolf logo on the front, at the top center of the shutter mechanism. It is held by a single screw. you will see that there is a threaded shaft that communicates the lens movement to the rangefinder cam. Just turn this shaft with fine pliers to effect the horizontal adjustment.

For future reference, if you really need to get the Lordomat cover off, you have to proceed with care. Once you remove the knobs and screws, you have to pry the cover off, because Leidolf used some kind of resin sealant between the cover and the body. Carefull tugging should get it off. You may have to grind a special tool to get the wind lever cap off without marring the finish.
