Has anyone successfully reattached the shutter control wire on one of these cameras? I got my AT-1 apart and found that the wire had come loose from the disc under the shutter speed dial. I can see where the wire is supposed to attach, but the end is frayed. Is it supposed to be knotted? Would a little solder help? When I manage to stuff it in the opening in the disk, it's easy to pull out. Does superglue work? Once I get it together, how do I adjust shutter speeds? Thanks, all! |

you're getting in pretty deep. The wire will have to be replace. It is what Canon called tunsten wire. I doubt if it's available. Your best bet might be a salvage camera and tranfer parts. |

Once it starts to fray, it's time to replace it. I use "Spiderwire Fusion" kevlar fishing line in a 4.5kg test size. Less than $5 and with 137 meters of it, you are set for life! I have used it on a variety of camera brands and models with perfect success. |
