Hello All,

I've decided to try my taped and hacked together Konica C35 EF. I've put one roll of C41 B&W through it, and the prints look surprisingly nice for a battered $5 camera. I also tested a few exposures in my living room, with marked-off distances, so I'm confident that the focus/scale is true.

However, I'm new to zone focusing, and wondered, since I don't have the manual, how I can set the lens for the sharpest picture according to the scale & icons, etc:

The 'feet' scale on the lens is marked 3.5, 5, 7, 15 and infinity. Given that this camera has AE, it's my guess (pls. correct me...) that you'll have to be more accurate with setting focusing scale the darker/more overcast it is. My reasoning is that low light=low ƒ-stop and shallow depth of field. Is this a correct assumption?

Also: When using the focusing scale--do the marked numbers mean that "everything above this distance will mostly be in focus" or does it mean "everything up to and inclusive of this distance should be in focus"?

Finally: When using the built-in flash with this camera, what aperture and shutter speed does it default to?

Thanks,

-CJ

Whoops!

Sorry for my inane subject line: I was enquiring about a KONICA C35, NOT a Canon!
