Just what it says. The dial on the counter starts to turn when winding the film, but then, it gets to a certain point, and it lets go, returning the dial to the zero position. Any suggestions on how I might fix it?

The frame counter on that model is like a vertical spring on a shaft to which it is firmly fitted. The upper part of the spring extends away from the rotating shaft and drives the counter gear one notch at a time.
It is not the finest engineering solution you've ever seen but it works OK - until that spring gets bent.

The afesaid spring is clearly seen an accessible when the top plate is removed.

Hope this helps
