Well, the old GT is working quit nicely now, after spending a little time with it apart. One question however, a flash doesn't work with it, and I suspect it's the flash contact somewhere in the camera. I've checked the flash cord terminal out and it appears OK, so now I'm wondering where the flash contact is located in the camera; I want to make sure its making contact properly.

The flash contact is hidden deep in the shutter assembly. You have to disassemble the lens barrel almost completely to get access to it.

Wow, that's not so good. I'm not sure it's worth it. Thanks Winfried. However, I do have an old GN junker I could experiment on, just for drill, as they say!
