the camara works but i can not get the function buttons on the back of the camara to register/work. Can anyone help me.

Before you get the shock of a lifetime, be advised you will find little love on this forum. Not only is this site devoted exclusively to classic older film cameras, many of those who post messages here are rather of hostile toward digital. This post is probably as nice as it will get. Good luck.

My first thought is that the Canon Power Shot G2 is a relatively new camera, and pretty expensive as well. In cases like that it might make sense to send it to Canon for service... and Fred is right, this forum is primarily for hobbyists and serious amateur repairpersons, with interest in older less electronic and more "home-fixable" cameras. Good luck with your G2; if it were me I would be sending it to Canon.
