I have just bought a Valoy enlarger, to which I have fitted a 50mm Componon lens. I cannot get an enlargement any smaller than about 7"x5" because the focusing sleeve will not screw out far enough for smaller sizes. Is there some adjustment I can make to enable smaller enlargements or did Leitz make some sort of attachment to fit on the focus sleeve for that? Many thanks in anticipation.

Yes, Leitz made a short 39mm extension tube for their enlargers. The tube is DOORX in the Leitz catalog. The tube is about 15mm in length. You can substitute any 39mm extension tube of similar length.
