What was the original battery used in a Kodak Automatic 35F ?

Thanks,

John

The camera takes an AA battery, but it's only for firing the flashbulb. The meter uses a selenium cell therefore it doesn't need a battery.

Thanks for the quick answer James and that’s what I thought, problem is a double “A” won’t come close to fitting. I even peeled the plastic coating from the battery and it’s still too large. Removed the bottom plate and the battery compartment isn’t even round. Looks like this is gonna be another conversion job. Thanks again.

I think the 'AAA' size battery is the same length but significantly smaller diameter than the 'AA' size... might this be the correct size? If it is also shorter, there is a size 'N' which is slightly smaller diameter than 'AA' and also about 1/2 as long.

Jim, I think you hit it right on the head, I would never have guessed it. The “AAA” is far too small and too short, the “AA” is too large. Two "N"s stacked is sounding just right after looking at some pics. I’ll let ya know. Now where did I store those AG-1’s ?

Thanks

Duh!! You're absolutely right! When I got my 35F I found 2 corroded "N" size Duracells inside. They were so old they still had the Mallory brand. I never did replace them because I never planned on using the flash. I think I have a PDF of the manual around here somewhere if you need that.

The “N’s” fit perfectly and James the PDF manual would be great. I have one for my Automatic 35 but the Automatic 35F is my daughters and I’m still not clear on the flash setting on the “F” Thank you and Jim both for the help.
