I have an old F-1n (new) with the Power Winder A. The two units often are out of synch.

Press the shutter release once and the shutter goes; press the shutter release again and the winder goes.

Other times, press the shutter release in and the shutter goes then release the shutter release and the winder goes.

Camera works fine without winder. Also tried new batteries in the winder with no improvement.

Anybody out there ever hear of this? Any solution?

Hi-
The power winder A was designed for the Canon A series cameras only( A-1, AT-1 AE-1, AV-1 etc). I don't think that it can be used with the F1n. According to my references, the new F1, or F1n, had it's own dedicated motor drives and winders, such as the AE Motor Drive FN and the AE Power winder FN.
Hopefully you haven't damaged your camera or the winder.

Bob-
Here is a web site with all of the Canon manuals.
The manuals for the winder and the and motor drive for the F1n are listed here.

Hi Ron,

Sorry, wrong description.

It's a power winder F (not A) with the later version of the old style F-1 (not the new F-1).

(I do use a Power Winder A on my A-1 and AT-1)

Anyway, the problem is real and I would be open to any suggestions.

Thanks for the Canon link. Cool site.

Bob
