Hi everyone. I bought this Fed 5B off ebay a few months ago and finally got around to taking some pics. Upon development, I noticed the following blown-out spots on both the prints and negatives. Any idea what it could be or methods of fixing it? I'm thinking there's a substantial light leak through the shutter mechanism.

I should add that the blown-out spots occurred in nearly all the pics. |

Hello, Jesus.
You have a hole in your shutter curtain. This could have been caused by many things, but that is not important. You need to (a) determine how large it is and (b) if it is fairly small, you can use some black fabric paint to fix it. If you use fabric paint...be very careful to find a high quality paint like TulipSoft or SoSoft. Do not use "dimensional" fabric paint. It is nothing more than white glue with some pigment added. You can find high quality fabric paint in a good art store or craft store. It could cost about $3 for a one ounce bottle, and that will last you forever. If you can not find this, let me know. Maybe I could mail you some.

Thank you very much. Upon removing the lens, I spotted the hole on the lens-side of the shutter curtain. It appears to be about a millimeter in diameter...maybe even smaller. I definitely think the fabric paint will fix it. I'll report back later.
