Major props to Glenn for turning an FTb shutter button into a cable release socket for my autobellows. What a great guy! Thanks Glenn! |

Glad the piece arrived ok.Just happy that I could be of some help. Now a question-I did this mod because original threads in cable release socket were stripped.I had to use FTb piece because I could not tap the tapered thread if I turned up direct replacement. Does anybody know if you can purchase a taper tap that will cut the correct thread form? I turned one up the other night from silver steel, tempered and polished etc. This will clean up a damaged thread beautifully but does not do well in cutting the actual thread. Glenn |

Glenn, I don't know the threadform for cable release sockets, but it looks similar to BA. Could you possibly get away with using a "first" tap very carefully? |

Hi Glenn, I don't know the exact threadform either, but you might try looking for something in the McMaster-Carr catalogue or at MSC industrial supply. www.mcmaster.com www.mscdirect.com Two excellent industrial tool suppliers Terry Hammar |
