I'm in the process of cleaning my K1000, theres mold in the mirror on the inside of the camera. I've started to take the top cover off, but I can't seem to get the Speed Plate off (or the ISO plate). Is there a special tool I need or am I just doing something wrong? I'm following the manual to the t.

If you unscrew the silver screw from the center of the shutter speed dial, the dials should just lift out. I usually use a pair of pointy tweezers to unscrew the little two-hole screw....
