Hi, I have an Olympus Trip that has a slight light leak at the back cover hinge. I notice that the light trap material here has badly deteriorated. I have ordered some material to replace this light seal. I was just wondering if any other areas of the back cover should have any light trap material. I can't see any trace of old material but maybe it has completely dissapeared. Steve |

I have two different versions of the Trip 35 (chrome shutter release and brass gear, black shutter release and delrin gear) and neither one shows any light seal except at the hinge. This must mark Japan's first step on the slippery slope of light seal material. |

Is the light seal strip at the hinge on the body, the back cover or on both ? |

Hard to say on mine but I doubt if it matters which one. Two strips might distort the hinge when tryimg to close. |

Thanks for all the replies on this. With my Trip I just had gunge mainly on the body side and a trace of gunge on the back cover. I will try first applying the light seal to the body only and see what happens. |
