The film take-up spool on my SP-500 has a very weak rotation, and usually doesn't take up the advancing film. Any tips / ideas on how to add more friction to the drive mechanism, etc? It spins when there is no film, but when you rest your finger on the spool while advancing the mechanism, the spool stops.

Thanks for any help or ideas...

Leo

you can add tension, but it requires removing the top cover and upper wind mechanism parts, the bottom and lower mechanism parts--all so you can remove the spool. Not an easy job. Also, not a common one--haven't done it in years. When you get the spool out, it comes apart and it will be obvious what to do to add tension--been so long I frankly do't remember.

Thanks Ed for the response. I'll give it a try, & let you know how it goes...
