I would like to replace or clean the focus screen on an Canon F-1. There is some residue on the top of the screen. Does this require the removal of the camera top? If so, is their any online source for info or can someone help me with advice. Any comments are appreciated.

The screen comes right out. As I recall, you just slide the prism off to the rear then lift the back edge of the screen. The screen assembly consists of a frame that holds the actual screen and a fresnel lens. Replacement screens in several types show up on Ebay from time to time.
