Hi,

I'm still looking for help with this camera. Does anyone have a manual or RE-II repair tips?

I inherited may EC lenses (28mm, 35mm, 50 1.4 & 1.8, 55 macro, 105mm, 135mm, 200mm, 80-200mm zoom, 400mm telephoto (not EC) and many, many Miranda acessories). I want to put these fantastic components to use, not just store them away in a closet (like they have been for the past 25-30 years).

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks, Marv

I have a few notes on the REII; I also have an REII that I could take a look at if you need something in particular. Please email me for the notes.... I don't know if they'll do what you need or not.

IIRC, the metering system on this camera was similar to that on a K1000, FTb etc. where a higher asa cut out a shutter speed on the low end. So 1st check the asa -- try asa 100 to start with. & see if that does any good. if not , try self cleaning the asa/shutter spd resistor by turning the dial back & forth a good # of times. Do the same w/the aperture resistor. If that does'nt work, scribe or mark the position of the pots in the base so you can come back to them if need be. Then move the pots back & forth slightly to self clean. A touch of lighter fluid might help too. The EC lenses for this model got excellent reviews & the camera itself had a double split image ( vertical & horizontal) that made for easy focusing.
