Hello all, I was just given a beautiful Ricoh XR2S, with three lenses, and the person who gave it to me told me that he had to replace the battery almost after every use. Any ideas what could be wrong with it? He didn't leave it on or anything, he turns it on, takes a few pics, and has to replace the battery. Thanks for you help!

Hi Jennifer:

This sounds like a short. It could just be a pinched wire or a bit of damaged insulation, or it could be something more serious.

You also want to make sure you're not using alkaline batteries, as they can have a very short life in some cameras -- though as I recall, Ricohs are more forgiving than most.
