I need to remove the top plate of my Zorki 4 (older knob wind version) as the 2 screws holding the speed number plate on have fallen out into the top of the camera!

I've removed the screw in the side of the knob and the frame counter and from Rick Oleson's excellent diagrams, I'd guessed that the knob must just lift off. The one on my camera seems to be stuck on though and I don't want to force it.

Am I missing something?

Many thanks in anticipation.

I think you will find it is screwed on.The wire clutch/brake on the wind shaft should provide enough hold, for you to unscrew anticlockwise.

Thank you very much indeed Glenn, you were absolutely right-much appreciated. A repaired Zorki is now sitting in front of me!
