I have been given a Zorki 4K. When you depress the shutter release, the shutter opens about a quarter of an inch at the right hand side & stays open until you remove your fnger from the shutter release,it seems to fire as normal.

I know that you must not change shutter speeds unless the mechanism is wound on, but I'm not sure the previous owner did (ironically the "do not wind &c" stickers are still intact).

I would appreciate any advice on how to fix this.
