The focusing ring on my Vitomatic IIa will only turn with extreme force but sticks completely and will not go below 12 feet at all. I'm afraid to force it. Any ideas.

I'm not familiar with the vitomatic, but in many german cameras of the 1950s the lens helical grease hardens over time and turns to glue. if this is the problem, disassembly is required to clean out and replace the grease.
