Hello!

Just wondering if I might get some help with my Nikkormat. While riding around on my bike yesterday I spotted an interesting demonstration, and had to resort to bargaining for an old nikkormat at a nearby fleamarket in order to get some shots. Anyway I think my problem would be fixed by a CLA but here in Zurich such a service is rather expensive.

The shutter seems not to tension now and then and does not fire. I have had this problem with my Rolleiflex but only after a period of repose, and just for the first 1 or 2 frames...

The Nikkormat squeaks as you wind, and depending on the position of the wind lever when it comes to rest before exposure, sometimes just doesnt fire.

Any ideas?

Much appreciated, Darius

Sounds like it's completely worn out. It may be worth removing the top plate and putting a drop of very fine lube on the gear under the wind lever, or removing the bottom plate and checking the ratchet etc. are moving freely.
