I own several Praktica L-series cameras and the hotshoes are loose on an L, L2, and LTL3. How do you get access to the screws that hold them on? Do I have to take off the top plate or is the solution less drastic? Many thanks.

The problem is easy to solve.

Try to press down the two upwards curved springs that are visible on the edges of the hot-shoe.

The metal palte then slides out (a little gentle persuasion and fiddling but no great force) revealing the offending screws.

I've done this once on a Super TL 1000 (essentially an MTL 5)
