Hello, Does anyone know how I would go about changing the internal battery on my Minolta 5000 SLR? Also, which battery would I need? Any help would be appreciated greatly Thanks in anticipation Bert Sweeney |

I'm not entirely sure, and I note that the Maxxum 7000 instructions I have do not tell you anything for that model, but I have read elsewhere that on some of these models, the internal battery resides under a little plate beneath the regular battery holder. You might check there. It's usually a pretty common lithium button battery, similar to computer CMOS batteries, and once you find it you should have no problem duplicating it. A little later I'll go rummaging in my wife's Maxxum 7000 and see what I can find, and if I find anything more definite I'll post back. |

A quick look at the 7000 confirms that when you remove the batteries, there's a metal plate held on by 6 or so little screws. I'm pretty sure that this is where the lithium battery lives, and that on yours you'll find a CR 2032 or similar there. |

Hello M Currie is correct the battery is behind the metal plate, thier are six screws, the longer ones are from the holes nearest the back of the camera. |
