I just bought this Vivitar XC-3 (Cosina CSR). I assumed it was working because when I cock the shutter it fires and makes a nice sound. I was not even aware that this camera had an electronic shutter until I inspected it more closely. However, when I open the back and hold it up to light, the shutter is either firing at a very fast speed or the curtains are not opening because I see no flash of light. This happens no matter what speed is set. On the shutter speed dial there are settimgs M (Presumably manual) and B - both of which work fine. So I do have one manual speed (probably 1/60). The camera takes 2 MS76 batteries which I did not have so I put in a brand new Kodak K58L 3 volt battery. It made no difference, no LEDs in viewfinder and no variance on shutter speeds. Anyone got any ideas? I don't have the manual for this camera so am somewhat in the dark. |
