I recently disassembled a Canon Ftb to repair a jammed shutter release button and when it was assembled again the dial for shutter speed can only move between B, 1 ... 60 and can't get to faster shutter speeds. I think I assembled that dial correctly because I can adjust the film speed the entire range from 25 to 1600.
I'm going to finish the roll of film I have in there before diving in for myself but I was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up for what I should be looking for. Thanks.
A few ?s. Does the shutter work @ B"? How are you determing the 1 - 1/60th speeds? Does the red warning flag appear between 1/2 & 1/4 sec? What settings did you use for dis./assembly? It sounds as tho you removed & replaced the dial at the wrong settings & as a result the speed shaft was timed wrong. At 1/1000, the flats on the spd shaft should be // to the camera ends. Spd. dial should come off & on (w/cover installed) @ 1/1000 (asa 25). The meter rack has to be timed before adding the top. Email back if you need more info. Don

The camera does work in "B" mode and I'm pretty sure that all the shutter speeds up to 1/60 are operating at that speed. 1 definately sounds like a second and then the others start speeding up pretty quick. The dial can only turn between 8 positions. I can't guarentee that when I took off the cover it was at asa 25/ shutter 1000 but I think it was when I put it back on and the internal film speed dial was wound all the way down.
