I have a Konica FT-1 motor. To refresh everyone's memory, this has aperture priority auto exposure. The meter works, the shutter works, and the lens stops down correctly when used manually, but when used in auto mode (aperture ring on lens locked) it always goes to F16. Whatever mechanism is supposed to trap the diaphragm actuator is not doing its job.

I'm just wondering how big a can of worms this might be. I'm not a very experienced camera fixer, but I've managed a few repairs in the past and I'm willing to take some risk on this cheap tag-sale camera if there's a hope of amateur repair.

Any hints on approach, or where to start looking for the problem, would be appreciated.
