The upper left screw for the Contax III rangefinder shutter cover will not come off. I can turn it with a screw driver, but it does not seem to be moving out of the thread. I have been able to remove the bottom two screws completely. The upper right screw comes off partially, but the upper left screw does not. What are the solutions to this problem?
Gravity and impact. Get a pair of splinter tweezers under the right hand screw and apply upward pressure while unscrewing. With every other screw out (including the hidden one under the leather)put enough pressure on the front plate while unscrewing the left screw to get you started, and repeat. It's not uncommom to find these screws stripped. Mark P.
