Trying to fix an old AE-1. For some reason the shutter always fires on the 's' setting (autotimer). Is this a complex electronic problem, or is there a way to fiddle with it to fix this?
Thx

take the top cover off and in front by the wind lever you will a brass-colored fine hair pin spring--about an 1" long--on the loose end there is tab/hook that the end is supposed to be under, but not touching. It sounds like the end is shorted to the tab--this is what gives selftimer action.
