I just got a canon ae-1 camera and it has a problem, when I crank the lever to advance to the next frame, the curtain will remain open. Does any body have any idea what is wrong and what it can be done to fix it. Thanks David

A friend of mine has the same problem on her A1.

I'm curious, too.

you might try removing the bottom cover and in the center of the body there is a magnet that holds the second curtain. Could be that the magnet surface has oil on not holding--clean off with alcohol and try again.
