I have had a Canon Sure Shot 70zoom for 8 years. The film will not advance, it makes no sound but everything else works well. Rewind, zoom, timer all work fine.

Quite honestly this camera is worth less than the cost of the repair. The market place is full of replacements at very advantageous prices. If you want a direct replacement, look on eBay. You could have picked up a couple of good ones for $0.99 plus S&H recently!

Sorry I cannot be more helpful, but these modern plastic wonders are not really constructed for ease of stripdown and maintenance. You can damage more, opening the things up than was damaged originally. Most repairs under guarantee were done by issuing new cameras - hence the glut of re-manufactured cameras on the market sometimes as these returns are rebuilt.
