I got eager this evening and cleaned an old shoe mount viewfinder, but ended up wiping off a lot of the semi-reflective coating, so now the brightlines don't show up anymore!

Is there any way to get a coating back on it? I saw there were discussions about re-silvering, any methods for refreshing the coating?

Thanks,
Steve

A semi-reflective coating is much harder to restore. Edmund Optics sells panels of semi-reflective mirror glass. Otherwise the only way to replace such a mirror is cannibalizing one from a junker camera.

Rick;
Thanks for the link. I've been putting off ordering beamsplitter glass, but with three dead Kalart RFs and an otherwise perfect Aries Viscount 1.9 gathering dust I guess it's about time.
