I recently cleaned and oiled an old Canon camera and after shooting a roll of test film, I found a soft vertical light line on a few of the outdoor shots. This would most likely be a light leak from the hinge, rigth?

Or would it be a shutter problem that is showing up due to using higher shutter speeds outdoors.

I appreciat any help that anyone can give here, and hope that this question is not too elementary–I'm just a beginer with this sort of thing.

Thanks,
James

Hi, James. Depending upon where the line was on the picture, it could either be a light leak at the hinge or the latch. Remember, the image is "flipped upside down" as it is printed onto the film, so a light leak on the right side of the picture actually took place at the left hand side of the camera, and a leak at the bottom of a developed picture actually came from the top of the camera. For a kit to fix that, please go to E-Bay and search "by seller." Type in my ID...Interslice. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Jon

Thanks, Jon. Your advice was very helpful. I recently bought one of your kits to fix a Canon Demi and it should help with this camera too.

Take care,
James
