I'm an armature.
I opened the upper metal cover of my just-bought PEN-EE3 to fix a shutter-aperture problem.
the shutter problem was fixed, but I wonder where I should connect the white wire under the hot-shoe to make the Flash-sync. work again...

When you took off the top cover - you broke the solder connecting the wire to the hot shoe terminal. You must resolder the wire to the underside of the hot shoe - you should see the solder on the contact. Michael
